Literature Text

I'm aged porcelain
And the smile painted on my face is chipping
I'm cheap fabric
And the seams holding me together are ripping

I'm that house
In the worst part of town
That makes the property
Values go down

I am those shoes
That have walked too many miles,
With old, graying laces
And tongues without smiles

I am the heart
That lies in your chest,
With too many wounds
And not a single one dressed.

"...I may look happy, but honestly dear,
The only way I'll really smile is if you cut me ear to ear.
I see the vultures, they watch me bleed.
They lick their lips, as all the shame spills out of me..."
